• Appointment is for a term of 5 years effective June 30, 2026 • Dr. Mohanty is an Economist and has made substantive policy contributions • Previously served as Chairperson of India's pension regulator, PFRDA, from March 2023 to May 2025 • Was Chief Economic Advisor at FICCI and an independent Director on several company boards • Has a doctorate and two master's degrees in Economics • Not debarred from holding the office of Director by any SEBI order or other authority
