DCM SHRIRAM : INCOME TAX PENALTY ORDER ISSUED

• Assessment Unit, Income Tax Department levied penalty u/s 270A of the Income-tax Act, 1961 for FY 2021-22 (AY 2022-23). • Penalty of ₹1.59 crore levied in respect of addition made on account of sale of buildings, treated as a capital asset. • The addition was made vide order dated 31st October 2025, passed u/s 143(3) read with Section 144B of the Act. • Company has appealed before the Hon'ble ITAT, Delhi, vide ITTPA No.35/DEL/2025. • The ITAT heard the matter on 26th May 2026 and the order is awaited. • Company will take appropriate legal course of action as the order lacks merit. • No material impact financially, operationally or otherwise, except to the extent of penalty levied.
