NEPHROPLUS : UZBEKISTAN TAX DEPARTMENT DEMANDS ADDITIONAL TAXES OF RS 11.50 CR
• Nephrocare Health Services Central Asia LLC, an overseas wholly-owned subsidiary, received an order from Tashkent City Tax Department for additional taxes and penalty. • Tax audit for January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2025, resulted in a net additional tax assessment of UZS 14,204,055,360 (~RS 11.50 crore). • A financial penalty of UZS 4,064,086,532 (~RS 3.29 crore) was also imposed. • Aggregate exposure, including net additional tax and penalty, is UZS 18,268,141,892 (~RS 14.79 crore). • The company believes the discrepancy arose from a data reconciliation issue and expects the order to be set aside/quashed. • The company is evaluating legal remedies, including the right to appeal.
