POWERGRID : ACQUISITION OF BARMER HVDC POWER TRANSMISSION LIMITED

• Power Grid Corporation of India Limited has acquired Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited on 23.09.2026. • The acquisition was made pursuant to selection as the successful bidder under Tariff Based Competitive Bidding. • The project involves establishment of 6000 MW, ± 800 kV HVDC terminals and a ± 800 kV HVDC bipole line of approximately 1000 km. • Cost of acquisition was about ₹18.98 Crore, including equity shares and assets/liabilities of the target entity. • Barmer HVDC Power Transmission Limited is engaged in the business of power transmission.
