• APSEZ's Colombo West International Terminal doubles capacity to 3.2 million TEUs with a total USD 750 million investment. • The expansion of CWIT increases capacity from 1.6 million to 3.2 million TEUs, aiming to handle nearly 25% of the Port of Colombo's targeted 13 million TEU capacity by 2028. • CWIT has handled 2 million TEUs in 18 months, the fastest terminal to achieve this milestone in the Port of Colombo's history. • The terminal expansion enables simultaneous berthing of three ultra-large container vessels and is Sri Lanka's first fully automated deep-water container terminal. • Developed by APSEZ, John Keells Holdings, and the Sri Lanka Ports Authority under a 35-year BOT concession, CWIT has generated over 3,000 direct and indirect jobs.
