MAZAGON DOCK SHIPBUILDERS : CLARIFIES NEWS ON THOOTHUKUDI SHIPYARD PROJECT

• MDL selected as Anchor Shipyard for proposed Greenfield Shipbuilding Industrial Clusters at Dighi, Maharashtra and Dugarajapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, under Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision (MAKV) 2047. • MDL is presently focusing on the development of these two proposed clusters. • Company had earlier explored developing a greenfield shipyard at Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, but did not pursue it further. • This decision was made after the Joint Venture company formed by the Tamil Nadu State Government entity and V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority selected another shipyard as the Anchor Shipyard for the proposed Thoothukudi cluster. Impact: Neutral (Clarification on a previously explored project)
