RELIANCE COMMUNICATIONS LTD : SPECTRUM ASSIGNMENTS TERMINATED

• Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has terminated spectrum assigned to Reliance Communications Ltd and Reliance Telecom Ltd for auctions held in 2010, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. • Termination is effective immediately and requires companies to cease all wireless network operations using the assigned spectrum. • The DoT cited violations of Notice Inviting Applications (NIAs) and non-compliance with roll-out obligations and payment of spectrum usage charges. • Reliance Communications is evaluating the implications and will take appropriate steps. • Impact: Negative (Spectrum termination may affect ongoing operations and resolution plans)
