DUROPLY : CALCUTTA HC SETS ASIDE RS 58.28 CR TAX DEMAND

• Income Tax Department had raised a demand of ₹58.28 Cr (Rs 5,827.57 lacs) under section 156 for AY 2018-19 • Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta, vide order dated October 6, 2026, set aside the final assessment order passed on March 18, 2021 • Matter remitted back to the Assessing Authority to pass an appropriate order after giving the company an opportunity to place its case • Company had earlier challenged the demand by way of a Writ Petition before the High Court
