POLYCAB INDIA: MSCI INDEX DELETION LIKELY, SAYS MOTILAL OSWAL 🔴
• Motilal Oswal flags potential removal of Polycab India from MSCI indices under MSCI's insolvency-related eligibility rules. • MSCI policy covers securities under Enhanced Surveillance Measure (ESM) and Insolvency Resolution Process frameworks. • Securities placed on the Insolvency and Bankruptcy (IAB) list are excluded from the MSCI Equity Universe. • Existing MSCI constituents entering the IAB list are deleted on the last business day of the month, with at least two full business days' notice. • Such securities cannot be reintroduced into MSCI Global Investable Market Indexes for 12 months following deletion. • Potential deletion could trigger selling pressure from passive funds tracking MSCI indices.
