CITY UNION BANK : GST DEMAND REDUCED TO RS 208.91 CR FROM RS 337.79 CR

• TNGST Act order for FY2021-22 received on October 14, 2026 cuts demand to ₹208.91 Cr • Reduced claim comprises tax of ₹110.37 Cr plus interest and penalty of ₹98.52 Cr • Order is a remand order pursuant to direction of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court • Original demand was ₹191.05 Cr tax plus ₹143.73 Cr interest and penalty, totalling ₹337.79 Cr, vide order dated December 29, 2025 • Bank says demand is devoid of legal sanctity and has factual errors; will take appropriate legal remedies under the GST Act • Bank expects no material financial implications, stating GST compliance is in conformity with sections 7 and 15 of the TNGST Act, 2017
