IRCTC : TIES UP WITH QUALITY COUNCIL OF INDIA FOR FOOD SAFETY AUDITS

• Signs strategic MoU with Quality Council of India (QCI) for digital, independent third-party food safety and hygiene audit • QCI to deploy certified professionals for unannounced quarterly and half-yearly inspections across IRCTC-managed mobile (trains) and static (station) catering units • Audit process to use QCI's proprietary mobile app with mandatory geo-tagging, time-stamping and photographic evidence; reports within a 24-hour turnaround • Non-compliance to trigger immediate Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) tracking against defaulting vendors • Umbrella agreement allows future joint programmes including passenger satisfaction surveys, infrastructure audits and staff training
