MoRTH publishes draft proposing amendments to the Motor Vehicles Rules AEBS is proposed to be mandatory for new car models from October 1, 2030 Draft has proposed to make AEBS mandatory for all car models from October 1, 2032 Govt proposes to make Emergency Lane Keeping System (ELKS) mandatory in taxis and transport cars from October 1, 2029 Draft also proposed installation of Automatic Commanded Steering Functionality (ACSF) in transport cars New standards for steering effort in vehicles proposed to come into effect from October 1, 2027
