According to two senior Iranian security officials, Tehran has prepared detailed plans to target undersea communications cables in the Gulf if the US and Israel attack Iran again.

Their remarks came after Iranian officials warned that if diplomacy with Washington fails, the region's undersea cables could become targets in any renewed conflict. The two Iranian security officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, provided few details and did not specify how or where Tehran would carry out such attacks. However, one of them stated that Iran would seek to prevent repairs after any attacks in order to prolong disruptions to communications, including internet connections.
