BALKRISIND : SIGNS PIRELLI OFFTAKE FOR 8 LAKH CAR TIRES PER YEAR
• BKT and Pirelli signed a strategic offtake agreement for production in India of Pirelli-branded premium car tires • BKT to produce at its newly constructed PCR plant at Bhuj; offtake to commence in 2027 and scale to 800,000 tires per year by calendar 2030 • Pirelli tires will be 17-inch and above; BKT brand to address the full Indian car tire portfolio from 13-inch upwards • Phase 1 capacity is 6,700 tires per day; about 80% earmarked for BKT brand, with the remainder for Pirelli offtake • Agreement paves the way for a second phase 50-50 JV and dedicated high-value passenger car tire plant, subject to preset conditions • Pricing based on raw material actuals plus conversion cost; no royalty mentioned, and no additional capex needed for the offtake
