BEL, HAL Gain Ahead of DAC Meet on ₹1 Lakh Crore Defence Procurement Plans
Shares of Bharat Electronics (BEL) and Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) gained up to 2% ahead of the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) meeting, where proposals worth over ₹1 lakh crore are expected to be considered. The agenda includes procurement of K-9 Vajra howitzers, HAMMER precision-guided munitions, Verba air defence systems, anti-tank missiles, advanced radars, torpedoes and unmanned platforms. Most acquisitions are expected to favour indigenous manufacturers, boosting optimism for India's defence sector.
