PM Modi Inaugurates ₹7,600 Crore CG Semi Chip Plant in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated CG Semi's ₹7,600-crore OSAT semiconductor facility in Sanand, Gujarat, marking the commissioning of India's third semiconductor manufacturing plant. The facility, developed through a joint venture with Japan's Renesas Electronics and Thailand's Stars Microelectronics, will manufacture chips for automotive, 5G, consumer electronics and industrial applications. Once fully ramped up, the plant will have an annual capacity of up to 5 billion chips and is expected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.
