FIIs Sell Over ₹45,000 Crore in Six October Sessions; 2026 Outflows Hit ₹3.6 Lakh Crore
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) have sold over ₹45,000 crore worth of Indian equities in six trading sessions in October, taking their cumulative net outflows in 2026 to around ₹3.6 lakh crore. Elevated crude oil prices, US Treasury yields above 5.2% and a stronger dollar have pressured foreign investor sentiment. Meanwhile, domestic institutional investors (DIIs) have helped absorb the selling. The Nifty 50 has declined nearly 14% year-to-date, reflecting sustained market weakness amid persistent foreign outflows.
