Vedanta Invests $600 Million to Double South Africa Zinc Capacity to 500,000 Tonnes
Vedanta Limited has invested nearly $600 million in the second phase of its Gamsberg zinc project in South Africa, doubling annual zinc-in-concentrate production capacity to 500,000 tonnes. The expansion was inaugurated by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and forms part of Vedanta’s broader $1.5 billion investment commitment in the country. The company aims to achieve annual zinc production of 3 million tonnes across India and South Africa, strengthening its global position in the zinc market.
