eMudhra Shares Crash 20% After Security Flaw Raises Concerns Over Website Safety
eMudhra, that provides digital signatures and helps verify whether websites are genuine, saw its shares plunge 20% after a flaw was found in eight of its security systems used globally. The weakness could have allowed hackers to create fake website identities and impersonate legitimate websites. Google and Mozilla have blocked the affected systems. eMudhra said no customer websites were issued certificates using the weak keys, no data was breached, and its Indian digital signature services remain unaffected. The affected business contributes around 1% of revenue.
