Land Rover Defender Gets Up to ₹34 Lakh Cheaper as Pune Local Assembly Replaces UK Imports

Land Rover has begun locally assembling the Defender in Pune, significantly reducing prices compared with fully imported UK-built models. The 3.0-litre petrol and diesel variants now start at ₹1.18 crore, down from ₹1.52 crore, while the 2.0-litre petrol version starts at ₹99 lakh, against ₹1.13 crore earlier. Local assembly reduces import-related costs, making the luxury SUV more affordable in India. CKD versions also include features previously offered as options on fully imported models.
