Ather Faces Supply Crunch, Missing Up to 20,000 Potential Scooter Sales Monthly
Ather Energy estimates it is missing 18,000–20,000 potential retail sales every month as demand outpaces production capacity. CEO Tarun Mehta said monthly demand has reached 50,000–60,000 units, against current supply capacity of around 35,000 scooters. Customer pre-orders more than doubled to approximately 1.8 lakh in Q2 FY27. To address the gap, Ather plans a ₹122 crore investment to expand capacity at its Hosur and Maharashtra facilities, targeting combined annual capacity of 11.4 lakh units by Q2 FY28.
