Cabinet Approves ₹10,000 Crore Container Manufacturing Scheme; Jupiter Wagons, Titagarh in Focus
The Union Cabinet has approved a ₹10,000-crore Container Manufacturing Promotion Scheme to boost domestic production and reduce dependence on imported shipping containers. The scheme will provide capital assistance for new manufacturing plants and expansion of existing facilities, alongside support for testing infrastructure and skill development. The initiative could benefit domestic container makers, including Jupiter Wagons, while Titagarh Rail Systems may see indirect benefits. The scheme also supports plans to establish the Bharat Container Shipping Line.
