PM Modi Approves Delhi–Guwahati Bullet Train Corridor in Principle; BEML Could Benefit
PM Narendra Modi has approved the proposed northern bullet train corridor connecting Delhi to Guwahati via Agra, Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Patna and Siliguri. The project remains at the design stage, with costs and timelines yet to be finalised. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inspected BEML’s Bengaluru factory, where India’s first indigenous bullet trainsets are being developed, featuring modern passenger amenities and reclining, rotatable seats. The new corridor could create opportunities for BEML, rail-equipment makers and domestic suppliers.
