Democrats Win Midterms, Flip Texas for First Time in 30 Years; Trump Says Republicans Would Have Won If He Were on the Ballot
Democrats won the 2026 midterms, with CBS News projecting they take control of the House. The night was historic enough that Texas flipped. James Talarico's win makes him the first Democrat to win statewide office there since 1994. Reacting on Truth Social, Trump said he wasn't on the ballot and claimed Republicans would have won "IN A LANDSLIDE" if he had been. He had earlier urged voters to pretend he was on the ballot.
